Keep your mobile phone charged up so you are contactable at all times.
Keep any legal documents you may need at hand and make sure they have not been packed away.
Allow plenty of time for packing, not leaving it too late, especially if you have lived in your home for a long time.
Be ready to move... Do the beds need to be taken apart? Have the sofa cushions been bagged up? Have you protected all mirrors, pictures, and glass? Washing machines should be drained and freezers defrosted at least 24 hours in advance.
Always know where the kettle is and any tea or coffee making essentials such as cups, milk, and sugar.
